Block 6, I am not feeling well and went home early. I would sincerely appreciate if you would do the following in class today. Please answer the following Pre-Q's (below) on a separate sheet of lined paper and staple it to your Guided Notes sheet (you're receiving it today)

- Choose six guests of the Renaissance to invite to your dinner party! Include yourself at the head of the table, and seat your guests next to others at the table on the large paper template provided.
- Label the chairs where each guest will sit. Under each guest, provide a three sentence explanation of who they are and their contributions to the Renaissance.
- Print a picture of each guest and put it on the seats at the dinner table. The image does not need to be in color, but it is nice to see some color now and again!
- Under each guest provide a question you would ask them and explain why you would ask them the questions in one-two sentences.
- Provide a one sentence explanation of why each person would sit next to the guests they are seated with.

- The term “Renaissance man” comes from the type of man Leonardo da Vinci was. He was everything the Renaissance was. A Renaissance man is defined as: a person with many talents or areas of knowledge. Explain how Leonardo da Vinci is THE Renaissance man.
- Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian thinker and politician who wrote about how government should function. How could you best sum up Machiavelli’s beliefs/ideas based on the reading?

You’re hosting a dinner party. No. You don’t have to cook. You don’t need to serve drinks. You do need to think about your guests though! Your guests are important figures from the Renaissance. My, what an interesting dinner this would be! You will create a dinner table on a posterboard and provide the following

In Class: Finish watching the film "Everest". “Based on a true story” reads the inevitable boiler-plate claim at the outset of the film. Everest chronicles the disastrous 1996 season on the mountain’s South Col route, when five climbers, including expedition leaders Rob Hall and Scott Fischer, perished, thanks to a fast-arriving storm combined with bad decisions about turn-around times and chaotic leadership.
