#Serfs4Life,  Well.  Remember at the beginning of the year how I  told you how amazing my immune system was because I am around YOU all day?  Turns out that came back to bite me in the bottom.  Sigh...  I  am home sick again today gang and I am so sorry.

I would appreciate the following be done today, Thursday, January 30, 2020...

We're done with the Industrial Revolution and now it is time to talk about the NEXT Revolution: French!  This revolution is different than the previous two when it comes to the definition.  THIS Revolution will actually overthrow a government!  You will need a computer and headphones for this one.

Mr. Barry's Block 6 Only Today - January 29, 2020

#Serfs4Life,

I am home sick today.  Sorry.  I  tried to come in but I  was coughing and sneezing my little Industrial brains out.  On another note, I  graded a lot of your papers last night and they are good.  You'll get the grades back on Friday.  :)

Since I am out, I will need you to do the following so we can resume on Thursday...

You will need a computer.  Read through the Industrial Rev. Doc and answer the following Q's in your notes so we can discuss them on Thursday.

1. We know that the Columbian Xchange brought new foods to Europe, which made diet better.  What else did this better diet do for European life expectancy?  Did it increase or decrease?
2. Why do you think the invention of the steam engine was the most important invention?  Watch the steam engine video here to see just how cool steam engines work!

3. Remember, before the steam engine, people got their power from  ______________ ?
4. What made iron such an important tool during the Industrial Revolution?
5. What is a factory?
6. Provide three ways in which WE, today, are affected by the Industrial Revolution

Once you've answered the above Q's in your notes, you have a tough
HW assignment due Friday.  You will need headphones for this assignment.  I have extra pairs of headphones in the little black bins underneath the pencil sharpeners, sharpies, and tissues shelf.   This assignment can be typed or handwritten.  See below.

The Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics are super cool to watch.  What most people don't realize is that they tell a history of the nation hosting the games.  In 2012, Great Britain hosted the Summer Olympic games.  Their opening ceremonies were SUPER cool!  They literally showed how Britain went from an agrarian/rural nation to an industrial one!  I  want you to watch the video below from 18:30 to 32:40.  Here, you will see how Britain "transformed" into an industrial nation.  In paragraph/essay format, explain in a minimum one paragraph how the Opening Ceremonies video accurately shows Britain becoming an "industrial" nation.

-Think about what England looks like at the beginning of the video
-Pay attention to what happens to the landscape...
-Pay attention to what the people look like...
-Pay attention to the color changes from beginning to end
-Pay attention to the inventions shown in the video

Watch from 18:30 to 32:40 in the video...Enjoy
