Day 1
In Class:  Turn in Industrial Revolution Opening Ceremonies short answer Q -- Introduce the French Revolution! --


Reading about the French Revolution answering the following Q's:

  1. What did France look like before the Revolution?
  2. What was the Bastille?
  3. Who made up 90% of France's population in the 1700s?
  4. Who were the bourgeoisie?
  5. What was the Enlightenment?
  6. What was the National Assembly and what did they do?
  7. What is a constitutional monarchy?
  8. What happened to King Louis XVI in January 1793?
  9. Who were the Jacobins?
  10. Who was Robespierre?
  11. What made the events in France in the 1780s-1790s a revolution?
  12. How did these events prove to be revolutionary?
  13. How could have France experienced a revolution through a different way?
  14. In what ways was the revolution a success?  In what ways was the revolution a failure?

Day 2
In Class:  Go over the French Revolution Q's -- Trying to find out "what" created a revolution and how these events eventually overthrew the French government! -- Crash Course French Rev!

Day 3
In Class:  Finish any French Revolution that we hadn't done in Day 2 -- Introduce the Revolutions Writing Assignment!

In a short essay, answer the following question:  How do the events/discoveries of the Scientific, Industrial, and French Revolutions prove they were in fact revolutions?  In your essay you will define the word "revolution" and explain how each of these revolutions are accurate definitions of the word.


HW:  None -- Be ready to write this essay on Tuesday or Wednesday in class depending on when we have you in class.

Day 4 -- No Class -- President's Day Weekend!
