In Class: Welcome to the Renaissance! Renaissance Doc
- What does "renaissance" mean?
- What did Renaissance thinkers challenge?
- Compare and contrast the differences between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in terms of how the people viewed education, questioning, the life/afterlife, religion, the power of the church, individualistic thinking, art/inventions
- What kind of art was reintroduced in the Renaissance?
- How did the printing press help enhance education and spread ideas?
- What were some advances in sculpture? Compare/contrast the David sculptures!
The paper will have an introduction of 3-5 sentences that explains to the reader (me) the following information:
- Who painted the School of Athens?
- When was the School of Athens painted?
- What was Raphael’s purpose of the painting?
- Where is the School of Athens located (the actual fresco)
- Thesis statement saying this fresco is a good example of Renaissance art.
