Happy Winter Break

Hey there #Serfs4Life #Untouchables #Davis7!  Ms. Jordan and Mr. Barry just want to say THANK YOU for a terrific first half of the school year!  It's hard to believe how far we've come and how much we've learned together.  Remember when we...

-Took the World Geography quiz on the first day of school when you had to "draw" the world :)
-Learned about geography and it's impact on man and man's impact on geography
-Rome fell and you had to tell us "WHY" it fell

The Acrostic Poem Project is due by the end of the second day of class the week of Jan. 12, 2k18!  This project is a quiz and HW grade.  Ms. Jordan and Mr. Barry suggest that you do the bulk of the work at school these next few days and the first days we get back, but you MUST MUST MUST get the colored pictures/images outside of school, unless you plan to draw them...

Hey #Davis7!  It's time to join enter the Renaissance!  We've got A LOT of learning ahead of us this week in terms of art, architecture, culture, trade, and DEATH!  Enjoy!

Day 1
In Class:  Go over the Black Death Q from last Friday:  What effects did the Black Death have on Europe?  This paragraph answer is due when you get to class for a HW grade!   What was the Black Death?  Why did it happen?  Where did it spread?  What impact did the Black Death have on Europe?
HW:  Read the passage below and answer the following Q's for HW due by Day 2 of this week.  This can be typed or handwritten.
1. What does "Renaissance" mean in French?
2. How long did the Renaissance last?
3. What two cultures were "classical" according to the Europeans?
4. Bankers and wealthy merchants invested money in arts and sciences.  What impact do you think their investments had on artists and scientists?
5.  The passage says trade and commerce increased as well as the rise in cities.  As we've studied in geography, what generally happens in urban areas and in areas where there is a lot of trade when it comes to "knowledge" and "ideas?" -- This is a tough Q.  You're gonna really have to think...
