Happy Winter Break

Hey there #Serfs4Life #Untouchables #Davis7!  Ms. Jordan and Mr. Barry just want to say THANK YOU for a terrific first half of the school year!  It's hard to believe how far we've come and how much we've learned together.  Remember when we...

-Took the World Geography quiz on the first day of school when you had to "draw" the world :)
-Learned about geography and it's impact on man and man's impact on geography
-Rome fell and you had to tell us "WHY" it fell
-Learned about Feudalism and we put you (#Davis7) at the bottom as SERFS!
-Did our Coat of Arms project!
-Learned about alllllllll the amazing people in the Renaissance and then invited them to a dinner party!
-Introduced our World Religions Unit
-Learned about Islam

Ms. Jordan and Mr. Barry want to wish y'all a happy and safe Winter Break filled with excitement, relaxation, and fun!  We look forward to seeing y'all in 2k18!

Hinduism!

Hey #Davis7 #Serfs4Life #Untouchables, here are two video podcasts that Mr. Barry made that you can watch that might help summarize Hinduism.  The first video is a basic introduction, while the second video is more detailed and has NEW information in it!  You NEED to watch it!

The Acrostic Poem Project is due by the end of the second day of class the week of Jan. 12, 2k18!  This project is a quiz and HW grade.  Ms. Jordan and Mr. Barry suggest that you do the bulk of the work at school these next few days and the first days we get back, but you MUST MUST MUST get the colored pictures/images outside of school, unless you plan to draw them...

Hey #Serfs4Life Welcome to the 17th week!  We are continuing our discussion about Islam and doing quite the bit of reading over these next couple of days...Get ready!

Day 1
In Class:  Reading through the text about Islam and answering the following questions about Islam Intro to Islam Notes and Questions:

1. How many times a day do Muslims pray?
2. What is one beverage & food item Muslims do not consume.
3. Provide three things Islam & Judaism & Christianity all have in common.
4. For Muslims, the Qur’an contains what important message(s)?
5. What is the Sunnah? What makes it different than the Qur’an?
6. What are the most basic acts of worship in Islam?
7. Use the graphic organizer/picture doc to learn about the Five Pillars of Islam.  Provide as much detail as you can to understand each of the Five Pillars...
8. What is the Ka’bah?  What color & shape is it?
9.   What does jihad mean & what does the Qur’an tell Muslims to do for Islam?
10. What is the Shar’iah?
